For the fifth successive year St Aloysius’ College is the highest achieving secondary school in Islington. This year 100% of our students achieved 5 or more A* - C grades at GCSE, 72% including English and Maths (subject to appeal). Our high standards are reflected in our Ofsted Report of March 2012 which judged us to be ‘outstanding’ in all core areas of Teaching, Achievement, Leadership and Behaviour and Safety. The inspection team were deeply impressed with the behaviour, attitude and response they received from an overwhelming majority of our boys and concluded that the boys believe “it’s cool to be clever and to learn at St Aloysius”.

We are a college of long standing tradition having served the local Catholic community since 1879. In fact, we are privileged to be the oldest surviving foundation of its kind in the Archdiocese of Westminster. We are a Christian community but one that promotes other world faith values, offering our students a high quality education in a disciplined but caring environment.

Following a complete refurbishment in 2010 our facilities and resources are now outstanding - a new sports hall; extensive computing facilities available for boys to use in class and beyond to support their independent research; all classrooms and laboratories fitted with electronic whiteboards and projectors and a purpose built music suite  catering for the many pupils receiving instrumental tuition and for our successful bands and ensembles.

We are a Maths and ICT Specialist and Academy Trust College and were awarded the most improved college nationally in 2010 in these subject specialisms.

We consistently achieve outstanding sporting success both locally and nationally in football, basketball and athletics including National U17 Basketball Champions in 2012.

“St Aloysius is an outstanding school and one that keeps getting better

“There is a very purposeful learning environment and expectations are high

“Leadership and management are exemplary and all staff are ambitious on behalf of their students”
