ProgressionThere are many areas of employment that see A Level Mathematics as an important qualification and it is often a requirement for the vocational qualifications related to these areas. Mathematics at AS and A2 prepares students for further study and employment in a wide range of disciplines involving the use of mathematics, such as economics, medicine, architecture, engineering, accountancy, psychology, physics and computer science.
Some university courses will only accept students with further mathematics qualifications, so it is essential you check with the university you wish to attend if it is expected for the course you wish to study. Further Mathematics is also a good addition for those considering degrees in medicine or veterinary science.
