A Level Turkish
This specification develops an interest in, and enthusiasm for, language learning. It helps candidates further develop the skills of listening, reading and writing at a level beyond GCSE. They learn about the culture of countries where Turkish is spoken and become able to communicate with people in these countries.
The EDEXCEL qualification has a straightforward structure with four engaging themes: Türk toplumunda değişim; Türkiye ve Kıbrıs’ta Sanat ve Kültür; Türkiye üzerinde görüşler; and Türkiye’de siyasal konular.
The four themes are studied alongside two works (either two literary texts or one literary text and one film) and are assessed through three externally-examined papers.
- Builds on best practice of the GCSE and provides interesting and meaningful assessment.
- A good basis for further study of languages at higher education.
- The new listening feature gives candidates an opportunity to demonstrate their ability in this skill.
This course covers many contemporary issues including society, culture, citizenship and the environment. You will built on your GCSE knowledge in speaking, listening, reading and writing and learn more complex vocabulary and ideas.
